Cilantro Lime Grilled Shrimp

Cilantro Lime Grilled Shrimp

I  love playing around with marinades and creating new twists, pairing contrasting yet complementary flavors. This Cilantro Lime marinade is bursting with flavor and smells so good! I love the smell of lime!    There are countless ways to prepare shrimp, but I find grilling the best method!  I just love the smoky qualities the grill adds and the firmness in the texture of the shrimp when grilled.  Shrimp is such a great low-calorie punch of protein that pairs well with so many other foods. I...

Grilled Steak with Sale’ Moniguo, A Garlic and Basil Sauce

What a name!?  This beloved family Sicilian Recipe has been passed down through the generations with no one exactly sure of the true name.  My Father taught me how to make what his family called "Sale' Moniguo".  I absolutely cannot find a translation for the word "Moniguo."  If you create the name from the main flavors and ingredients perhaps a more precise name would be "Aglio Basilico Salata Salsa" translated as "Garlic Basil Salty Sauce" because in essence that is exactly what it is!  I...

Serving Others.

I believe we all can play a role helping those in need, especially those suffering from hunger.   According to Feedingamerica.org: https://www.feedingamerica.org/take-action/volunteer

  • Due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, more than 54 million people may experience food insecurity in 2020, including a potential 18 million children.
  • According to the USDA’s latest Household Food Insecurity in the United States report, more than 37 million people in the United States struggled with hunger in 2018.
  • In 2018, 14.3 million American households were food insecure with limited or uncertain access to enough food.
  • Households with children are more likely to experience food insecurity. In 2018, more than 11 million children live in food-insecure households.
  • Every community in the country is home to families who struggle with food insecurity including rural and suburban communities.
  • Many households that experience food insecurity do not qualify for federal nutrition programs and need to rely on their local food banks and other hunger relief organizations for support.

Food is a most basic need, and I am committed to encouraging as many people as I can to serve or donate to reduce hunger. I have provided links to organizations that serve, but there should also be several organizations in your local community in need of support and volunteers as well:
